Five
minutes more exercise and 30 minutes less sitting could help millions
live longer by reducing the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart
disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. Prolonged sitting has
been linked to poor circulation, weakened muscles, and slower
metabolism. By simply standing up more often, taking short walks, or
adding a brief burst of activity, individuals can counteract many of the
harmful effects associated with sedentary behaviour.
